Zeppelins ahoy!
Finished the zeppelin story and mailed it. Whew.
(I've been capitalizing Zeppelin all this time, under the impression that that was standard. But this morning I was looking at a book about them and noticed that it consistently used lowercase, and I checked the dictionary and found that the dictionary also said lowercase. Unless you're talking about Ferdinand Adolf August Heinrich Graf von Zeppelin himself, in which case of course you capitalize it.)
I've been meaning for months to post a whole bunch of cool zeppelin links in the hopes of inspiring others to write zeppelin stories, but it's too late now. I may still post some at some point, but don't hold your breath.
I'm tempted to make all sorts of comments here about the writing process, and where various parts of the story came from, and what I was trying to do with it, and all that, but since David and Jay may read this entry before they read the story, I'm gonna hold off for now and let the story speak for itself. But I will say it was fun to write.
