X Prize

SpaceShipOne has successfully completed its second flight to win the Ansari X Prize. Cool beans.

There's lots of debate about whether this really is a useful stepping stone toward commercial spaceflight; I gather that the issues involved in getting much further than 100km up are very different from those involved in getting to the edge of space. But even if it ends up not being a step in a direct line to space, I think it's cool.

Follow the links for video. Or see the news.com article for an overview and a few images of the "space guppy," as one source I saw called it last week.

universe has always been fun. For me anyway. It is no wonder that it is part of our universe curricullum. I like every part of it. From marine life to cells and even diseases. There is just a big cosmos out there. universe is in the front line of explaining it .

[This was obvious spam, but since I agree that universe has always been fun, I figured I’d allow it. —Jed]
