Items: fluff

These items have no deeper significance, and no political content at all. (And in case that sounds sarcastic, I'm serious—nothing remotely political in this entry. Politics to follow in later entries.)

  • Dragon Optical Illusion. I've seen similar illusions in real life, but the downloadable video here is the most astonishing example of the type that I've encountered. I'm having a hard time believing it's really what they say it is.
  • UC Santa Barbara's Daily Nexus student paper features a police blotter column. The first segment in the November 4 police blotter is entertainingly off-kilter.
  • Something Awful features The Greatest Picture Ever, a collection of images that various people consider the greatest picture on the Internet. Some are silly, some dumb, some offensive, some kinda distressing, some funny.
  • Speaking of silly: this balloon arrangement is exceedingly silly, and potentially good for cheering people up.

I’ve now made my own hollow-face dragon, using the pattern on their site, and can confirm that it really is just as impressive in real life. The little fellow is watching me from atop my CD rack, just a paper cutout when both my eyes are open, following me alarmingly when one is shut.

Yes, the dragon is for real, and very cool. Have had a pretty blue version for a while. It’s more effective from certain angles than others; there are actually ones where you can really get it to work with both eyes open.
