Assorted congrats
I don't have time to post a full entry, but quick congratulations to:
Patrick and Karin Weekes on the birth of Garrett Jameson Weekes early this morning.
Eileen Gunn on the announcement that her new short-story collection Stable Strategies and Others made Amazon's Best Books of 2004: Top 10 Editors' Picks: Science Fiction & Fantasy list. (She's in good company: Stephen King, Patricia McKillip, Tad Williams, et alia.) Which reminds me obliquely that I briefly met the Tachyon Publications guy, Jacob, at WFC; I had seen him around at cons, but somehow never quite connected him to Tachyon, or realized that Tachyon had published various cool books, including Eileen's and the new Tiptree anthology.
That paragraph got a little out of control. All I really meant to say was: congratulations to all concerned! It's great to see the fruits of various labors.
