Chirrup
I was sitting here doing some SH database stuff, and I put on my iTunes playlist, and along came Lui Collins's rendition of "Red Red Robin," a song I first encountered in some animated movie as a kid (possibly Max Fleischer's "follow the bouncing ball" version). Her performance is fun and infectious and immediately put me in a good mood, especially these lines:
Wake up, wake up you sleepyhead,
get up, get up, get out of bed
Cheer up, cheer up, the sun is red,
live, love, laugh and be happy
(Even though the first couple lines there are not really a sentiment I generally endorse, being more the sort who'd rather not get out of bed.)
So I figured I'd share the cheer. Sadly, Lui Collins's music is not available in the iTunes Store, but with a little digging, I found another similarly cheerful rendition: "Red Red Robin" as performed by Canadian singer/songwriter Fred Penner on his kids' album Happy Feet. The rest of the album sounds fun, too.
