Speculative Ramayana anthology

Been meaning to link to this for ages: Anil Menon and Vandana Singh are putting together a Speculative Ramayana anthology. They're looking for speculative stories “that use the Ramayana in an essential and innovative way.”

Their reading period, alas, lasts only a few more days; it ends on July 31. Time is of the essence!

Of particular note in their guidelines are the links in the Resources section. I was especially intrigued by the discussion in the online introduction to a book called Many Ramayanas: The Diversity of a Narrative Tradition in South Asia, edited by Paula Richman. Some neat stuff about multiplicity of versions of this story; also possibly relevant to discussions of multiplicity of versions of other stories. (Also, of immediate relevance to anyone considering submitting to the anthology, that intro includes a plot summary of the best-known version of the story. See also Wikipedia's synopsis.)
