Disconcerting
I was looking at a news story just now, and a disconcerting link caught my eye:
In case you can't see that, it's a photo of an unhappy-looking white guy with a beard, and underneath it there's a bolded link that reads “Top Reason for Failure: Jed.”
At first I thought it was one of those joke web apps that gets the visitor's name from any of various sources and then plugs it into a fake headline. But then I realized that it was a real link to a real article about the president of the 49ers, Jed York, whom I hadn't previously heard of.
Still, found it amusing.
