Joey Comeau in San Francisco this weekend!

Do you like the webcomic A Softer World?

How about the short novel Lockpick Pornography, which I reviewed a couple years ago? If you haven't read that, it's not too late to become a fan: follow the link to download and read it for free, or to buy a hardcopy version for $10US.

Or possibly you've read and liked some Strange Horizons stories by this guy named Joey Comeau.

Joey, the writer of all of the abovementioned items, is currently on a West Coast tour to publicize his new novel, Overqualified.

I meant to mention this sooner so that y'all in Seattle and Portland could attend his visits to those cities this week, but I'm late. Sorry about that.

But this weekend, he's in San Francisco. Tomorrow (Saturday the 17th) he'll be at the Alternative Press Expo; Sunday the 18th he'll be reading at The Booksmith (1644 Haight St, SF). The reading (also featuring a couple of other writers) is from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

(I'm not sure whether that "reading" link will work—it's a link to a Facebook event page.)

I'm not certain I'm going to be able to make it to the reading, but I hope so; I have yet to meet Joey in person.

Joey will also be appearing in LA next Tuesday (the 20th) and San Diego next Wednesday (the 21st).
