Internet piracy and Harlan Ellison
An interesting editorial at Revolution SF by Kenn McCracken about Ellison's anti-piracy case. I'm not sure I follow the box analogy, and I'm not really satisfied with McCracken's conclusion (which seems to be that there's nothing useful that can be done), but in general I approve of the sentiments, and it makes an interesting point about younger people perhaps having different perceptions about this stuff than us old fogies. Mostly, I'm just pleased to see someone in a public forum saying they're against piracy but they're not comfortable with the DMCA (hiss!).
