Happy Mother’s Day!
I meant to say earlier: happy Mother's Day to all you mothers out there! (The UK apparently celebrated Mothering Sunday on March 21 this year, and I imagine there are other motherhood-related holidays elsewhere, but today's the day in the US.)
I was going to try to list everyone I know who's celebrating their first Mother's Day as a mother, but I'm sure I would miss some people. And anyway, the above well-wishes also apply to those who've had several Mother's Days by now, as well as those who are expecting. May all of your children be healthy, wise, compassionate, and full of riches of all kinds.
Sympathies to those who would like to be celebrating Mother's Day as mothers but aren't or can't, and to those who for whatever reason can't or don't want to celebrate it with their own mothers.
In conclusion, motherhood is cool. Best wishes, congratulations, and thanks, to all those who are or have been mothers.
I like apple pie, too. It's almost like I'm an American or something.
