Sick
Hoping to post a WisCon wrapup/summary soonish, but this ain't it.
Last night around 2:30 a.m. I decided to head back to my room and go to sleep; I'd been up past 4 each of the preceding three nights (for a total of about 15 hours of sleep), and decided I needed to get to sleep earlier.
I had been feeling a little bit queasy on and off for the previous couple hours, but that didn't seem to match the onset symptoms of the Flu That Ate WisCon, so I didn't think anything of it. But by the time I got back to my room, I was feeling really sick.
Ended up spending most of the next two hours in the bathroom. Slept, intermittently, from about 4:45 to about 7:45. Woke up still sick, though not quite as bad.
I got off easy compared to a bunch of other people. But I'm still sick, and I haven't eaten anything in the past 24 hours except a few slices of peach, a banana, and a bottle of apple juice.
I'm really hoping I can get some sleep tonight, and that this whatever-it-is will resolve itself overnight.
And I'm hoping that the rest of y'all who got sick also get better soon. It would've been awful to be on a plane today even with the mild version; it must've been much worse with the bad version.
[Edited to add: On re-reading this, I realize that I didn't explicitly say that I didn't fly anywhere yesterday; instead, as we'd previously planned, Mary Anne drove Ben and me to Chicago. That was far more pleasant and manageable than an airplane would've been. But a couple of my friends who were sick did have to fly, and it sounds like it was really awful.]
