South Bay events: a cappella concert, movie outing

Tough choice between things to do in the South Bay Area next Friday evening (nine days from now):

Talisman A Cappella, my favorite student a cappella group (possibly my favorite a cappella group period) is having their winter concert on Friday, December 5, in Toyon Hall (on the Stanford campus), from 8 to 9 p.m. Tickets are $3 for students, $5 for non-students. Tickets available at the door (or at various venues on-campus). The group's business manager tells me: "The theme of our show is 'Lifted' and we will be singing joyful and uplifting songs from South Africa, Russia, the U.S. and many other countries."

(For more about them, plus links to online samples of their music, see my entry about them from last year.)

That same evening, the Billy DeFrank LGBT Community Center in San José is organizing an outing to see the new movie Milk on opening night. $15 per ticket--price includes a raffle ticket and a post-screening reception.

I'm leaning toward the concert, 'cause I can go see Milk on my own another time.
