Everyone in our group is apparently fine

Today, huge waves (related to Hurricane Bill) injured several people on the island where we're staying, and swept several more out to sea.

News reports are a little confused about details, but my understanding is that of the five who were swept out to sea, two were recovered fairly quickly, two more were recovered a few hours later, and the last, a seven-year-old girl, was recovered but died in the hospital.

The news reports I've seen haven't given information about the condition of the other four retrieved from the sea, though I'm guessing that they're still alive. The people who weren't swept out to sea apparently suffered broken legs and shoulder or back injuries.

All pretty awful. I'm thankful that everyone in the group I'm vacationing with seems to be fine (last I heard, everyone had checked in safe), but I'm sad about the girl who died.
