In the morning
Only two more days 'til Winter Solstice. Here in California, it'll happen Monday morning at 9:47 a.m.
I'm really really looking forward to the days getting longer again.
Was listening to iTunes while writing some submission-management code just now, and Vienna Teng's "Lullabye for a Stormy Night" came on. The tune is a little bit too much like "It's All Coming Back to Me Now," but it's nonetheless a lovely song. As usual when her songs come up, I had to stop and listen to the lyrics. It's a song for a frightened child during a storm. I particularly like this bit:
This same rain that draws you near me
Falls on rivers and land
And forests and sand
Makes the beautiful world that you see
In the morning.
There are a couple of awkward phrases in the lyrics, but mostly I like 'em. If you want to hear the whole song before buying it, instead of just the clip from the iTunes Store, there's a YouTube video (where the video part just shows the lyrics flowing past).
