Repetition
Didn't occur to me 'til just now that my problems with Bridget Jones echoed my problems the other week with Legally Blonde. I suppose I should mention that I do actually like movies with female protagonists on occasion. (Though on looking over my list, which some day I'll convert into a Web database, I see that in general I seem to like tough independent female leads, a la His Girl Friday; I like it when a protagonist of any gender shows some vulnerability, but I like it best when there's a lot of clear competence to balance the vulnerability. Ambiguous competence and minor competences surrounded by a sea of incompetences don't do as much for me.)
