Mostly offline

Been mostly offline all weekend; unusual for me.

I did go to the march on Saturday; I'm intending to write about it, and post photos, at some point, but we all know how likely Jed's intentions are to be realized.

Went up to Oakland for dinner Saturday night with Mary Anne and Susan and the splendiferous Ms. Debbie Notkin (not that Mary Anne and Susan are not themselves splendiferous, mind you, just that I see them more often than I see Debbie), followed by some hanging out at Avi & Rom's party. I admit that these activities were not as productive as staying home and reading submissions would've been, but they were quite enjoyable.

Sunday, I finished reading the novel and the story for workshop, and attended workshop itself, but didn't get much else done.

We were very pleased Sunday morning to learn that the IRS has awarded Strange Horizons provisional tax-exempt status as a publicly supported non-profit organization, which basically means that donations past and future can now be deducted from your income when calculating taxes. See Mary Anne's entry for more information. We've been hoping for this since before we launched, but the confirmation from the IRS didn't come through 'til today.

Thought I had more to say here, but can't think of anything that wouldn't take too long to write up at the moment. More soon, no doubt.
