“Pushing the Envelope” resource list

At WisCon, as I mentioned a few days ago, I was on a panel titled "Pushing the Envelope," about how to get more cutting-edge/groundbreaking stuff about sexuality, gender, orientation, etc in sf. I'm still hoping to write up some notes and thoughts on the panel and how it went, but that may take a while longer, and Certain People have (quite rightly) been pestering me to link to the panel's resource list.

So here's the resource list. It's a little longer than the version we handed out on paper, and contains more links.

Feel free to send me more items for it if you like, but remember that the idea was to include really groundbreaking work, not just anything that happens to touch on these issues.

    I would add Kate Bornstein’s Gender Outlaw to the workbook. I found it to be a more complex and nuanced look at the topics brought up in the workbook, but still straightforward enough that it worked pretty well when I taught it in freshman comp.

    I’ve written a novel that does all of those things. I just need the *&^%ing agent to read the full MS and see how cool it is!
