Latvian multi-connection spam
Just got an odd piece of email spam. Google Translate says it's Latvian, and it claims to be from an acquaintance of mine, indicating that an author we published is having a big anniversary soon, and that someone I knew in college suggested giving e-cigarettes as gifts.
I don't think any of the three named people know each other.
So I think it must be mining my Facebook friends list, as I think all three of them are on that list.
Ah, the ways of spammers are most ingenious. If it hadn't been in Latvian, it might almost have been plaus—no, wait, it wouldn't have been plausible then either. Never mind.
