Notes in passing

Yesterday: slept in; did some magazine stuff (every time before that in the past week that I've said I was about to do magazine stuff, something interrupted me a few minutes later); had lunch; went for a long walk in the woods with an old friend; went to a long and lovely roundsing (and attempted only semi-successfully to record a couple of songs on my iPod); had dinner; went to another roundsing for advanced rounds and stuff we don't sing very often, but it turned out to be too advanced for me, so talked with friends instead. And there was a long and very enjoyable Charades game—I love Charades, but rarely get a chance to play it. The SWIL group mind was hard at work—at one point someone clued three words, book, second word "and," and someone else called out Pride and Prejudice, which was the intended answer. And that kind of thing kept happening, over and over.

Today: something like an eight-hour drive down to Nags Head. I was considering renting a car and doing the drive solo so I could stop and visit some friends along the way, but I once again managed to get only about three and a half hours of sleep—went to sleep too late, then woke up (suddenly and irrevocably) much too early. So I'm doing a quick email check, then gonna go get some breakfast and help with cleanup. I'm probably not going to the big dim sum group outing—I don't really like dim sum, but it's possible I'll tag along for the company. (And one group is going to vegetarian dim sum; one of the things I don't like about dim sum is that it's often difficult to find out what's in the various items, and most of the time what's in them is beef or pork, neither of which I eat. But even at a place where I know it's all vegetarian, I think it's probably not my cup of tea.)

Anyway. Not sure when I'll next be online—I know there's Internet access not too far from where I'll be staying, but it won't be entirely convenient. Knowing me, though, probably sometime in the next 36 hours or so.
