Another Peter Capaldi connection to Dr. Who

I just came across an old blog entry in which I linked to the IMDB entry for a 24-minute 1995 movie called Franz Kafka's It's a Wonderful Life.

I still haven't seen the movie itself. But it was written and directed by Peter Capaldi, who's about to start playing the Doctor on Doctor Who.

And it starred Richard E. Grant.

Who, ten years ago, starred as the Doctor in Scream of the Shalka, an animated web-published Doctor Who adventure that I gather was intended to relaunch the series.

Grant had also appeared briefly as the Doctor in the 1999 comedy Doctor Who special The Curse of Fatal Death, and he later appeared on the revived show as The Great Intelligence.

I suppose that after fifty years, it's not surprising when someone associated with British TV and movies turns out to have some connection or other to the show. But I was still tickled.
