1983, February 5: Letter from Jay to G&H

One-page handwritten letter. At some point, Helen wrote “Feb. ’83” at the top, so I’m guessing that this was sent with the other two February 1983 letters (from me and Peter).

Dear Grandma and Grandpa,

I am very sorry for such a late letter. Just recently, the first semester ended, and during the last few days we had final examination, which I had to franticly study for. Also I have about a one hour of homework every night and my paper route and collecting. Anyway, thank you very much for the delicious Christmas presents. I espicially enjoyed the doughnuts. They were just great as usual. My main Christmas present, from Peter, was a brand-new ten speed bicycle.

The paper that I work for, the Times Tribune xxx is a Monday through Saturday paper. However this March, they are coming out with a Sunday morning paper. This means I’ll have to get up super-early every Sunday morning.

On my x semester report card, I recieved five A minuses and two B minuses.

I am thinking about coming up to visit you at the end of the summer, by train. (Probably by myself)

Love,

Joaquin
