Anniversaries update
For weeks, I've been meaning to post here, but I keep shying away, for reasons not entirely clear to me. And of course the longer I go without posting, the more there is to post, and the more overwhelming the task of catching up feels. But today seemed like the right time to post about a couple of specific things:
- Today my father would've been 77 years old. It's been over ten years since he was killed.
- Today is the 36th anniversary of my mother's death.
- It's been just over a year since I started taking Lexapro. I haven't yet missed a day.
I suspect the Lexapro is why I've remained on a fairly even keel this week, despite the disappointing and distressing election results and the difficult anniversary. I seem to be doing okay so far today. Soon I need to head in to work, where I'm interviewing someone this afternoon (my 98th interview during the time I've been at this job). I think this evening will be focused on downtime, maybe working on photos and/or reading. (Oh, and dealing with a WordPress problem for Jaggery.)
Even in troubled times, self-care is important. I hope you're all holding up as well as you can under the circumstances.
